Clinics, Vaccinations & Workshops

Spay and Neuter Clinics

Spay and Neuter clinics are critical to keeping the numbers of stray dogs and cats on the streets to a minimum. It is a costly and time consuming process, as each animal needs to undergo surgery performed by a veterinary surgeon. However it prevents more animals from being born, which is the major challenge of dealing with rising stray animal levels.

When we have dates for our first clinics, we will put them on the Events page.

Vaccinations

Animals that live on the streets do not have access to veterinary care, and this means that they are vulnerable to disease. One of the more dangerous diseases in Tanzania is Rabies - dogs that get rabies can pass it on to humans with a bite, or even a lick to broken skin. It is extremely deadly to animals and humans, so measures to control this disease are much needed.

Vaccination days target certain areas and aim to vaccinate as many stray animal in that area as possible. When we carry out any vaccination activities, we will post them on our Events page.

Workshops

Workshops are useful educational tools to help people understand the needs of their animals, and how they may be able to fulfil them in low-cost and practical ways. Working animals in particular benefit from their owners having more knowledge and understanding of appropriate ways to feed, house and care for them. Often this benefits the owner too, as a happy, healthy animal is much more productive during their working life than an unhealthy or injured animal would be.

When we run workshops, we will add them to our Events page.
